We are now recruiting a Group Safety Coordinator to take full ownership of health, safety, and compliance systems across all divisions and locations.

Role Purpose

This is a strategic and operational leadership role, accountable for designing, implementing, and managing the full lifecycle of LMH Group’s health & safety function. The Group Safety Coordinator will:

  • Develop and maintain safety management systems
  • Lead incident prevention and investigation
  • Oversee Offsite Manufacturing and Site Installations
  • Implement staff inductions and internal training
  • Drive audit compliance (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Safe-T-Cert)

You will be the primary authority for safety across all LMH Group operations, working with directors, project leads, clients, and regulators to embed a proactive, accountable safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Group-Wide Safety Leadership

  • Define, communicate, and uphold LMH’s Group Safety Strategy across all companies, divisions, and projects
  • Own the development and enforcement of the LMH Group Health & Safety Management System
  • Ensure consistency and compliance across factory operations, site-based installation projects, and cross-border activities

Induction & Training

  • Develop and deliver structured safety induction programs for all new hires and subcontractors
  • Schedule and manage toolbox talks, refresher sessions, and behavioural safety briefings
  • Track training requirements, expiries, and compliance across all staff

Safety Governance & Controls

  • Conduct regular Offsite Manufacturing and Site Installation safety audits, including spot checks and formal inspections
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with statutory obligations (Fire Safety, LOLER, PPE, RAMS, permits)
  • Own all internal safety documentation: Safety Statements, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permit-to-Work systems

Incident & Emergency Management

  • Act as first response coordinator for any safety incidents, near misses, or high-risk activities
  • Lead all accident investigations, root cause analysis, and closeout procedures
  • Manage reporting obligations to HSA, HSE, insurance providers, and clients

ISO & Certification Systems

  • Lead implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Safe-T-Cert
  • Prepare for and support all internal, external, and client safety audits and certification reviews
  • Maintain all safety registers, training logs, audit findings, and corrective action reports

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Represent LMH Group in safety meetings with clients, auditors, insurance partners, and authorities
  • Collaborate with internal departments (fabrication, project management, compliance, HR) to ensure aligned safety practices
  • Drive cultural change and continuous improvement in health & safety performance across the Group

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Health & Safety roles, with clear progression into leadership
  • Proven track record in both manufacturing/fabrication safety and construction/site installation safety
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent QQI Level 6/7 H&S qualification
  • Deep understanding of Irish and UK H&S legislation, codes of practice, and ISO frameworks
  • Experience leading ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Safe-T-Cert systems
  • Strong report writing, incident investigation, and audit skills
  • Capable of working across multiple locations and managing safety systems at a group level

Desirable Attributes

  • Lead auditor qualification (ISO 45001 or 14001)
  • First Aid, Fire Safety, or Manual Handling instructor-level certification
  • Familiarity with steel erection, crane/lift operations, working at height
  • A practical, solutions-focused communicator able to coach both management and tradespeople
